“The only thing that makes me sad is that I shall be leaving Africa when I die.” – Alexander McCall Smith

Cape Town

Unearthed will be taking you up over the city bowl to enjoy a fantastic adrenalin paragliding over the city, launching you from the famous Signal hill. This will take you over the views of Lions Head, 12 Apostles and Robben island in the distance. The flight can be up to 30 mins if the wind conditions are good and will be an experience that you won´t forget.

After this, Unearthed has lined up some of the best Craft beer brewery tours that Cape Town has to offer both the novice and the experienced beer connoisseur. We will take you all over Cape Town, stopping at each to learn the art of brewing to the infusion of the ingredients. We will end the day at one of the top sites with a tour of the Afro – Caribbean Brewery, where you may sample over one hundred craft beers, and enjoy some of the best food paring to bring out the hops. There is something for everyone on this tour.

“Africa changes you like nowhere on earth” – Brian Jackman

Cape Town

Cederberg Mountains

From Cape Town the majestic and rugged Cederberg mountains are only 2½ hours’ drive north from the city. The area has a spectacular mountain landscape and is a treasure house of rock art and has a rich botanical diversity, being part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. A major portion is a proclaimed Wilderness Area that recently obtained World Heritage status. There are over 100 species of birds and the rare mountain leopard watches your every move as you take your two days in this unspoiled area.

Your first day will begin with an early arrival and from there settling into camp. You will start with your days hike into the Cederberg and up to the “Maltese Cross” and back down to the Stadsaal Cave formation, where you will see the bushman cave paintings.

This is a moderate walk and will suit the beginner to intermediate walker.

From there it’s back to camp for a night under the stars and a good old South African Braai.

After breakfast it’s a leisurely walk around the reserve and then back down to Cape Town.

Swakopmund, Namibia

Etosha National Park, Namibia

Each trip to Namibia is customised to our client’s requirements. Our route takes us through Windhoek, and then we make our way south to Sossusvlei with its world-famous sand dunes. After experiencing Dead Vlei, Sesriem Canyon and Dune 45, we make our way to the historic towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay on the Skeleton Coast. We leave the coast and enter Damaraland with its desert elephants and ancient rock engravings.
The Kunene region in the north western part of Namibia is known as the gateway to the magnificent Epupa Falls. Our next stop is Etosha Game Reserve. The white sand around the pans offers a very different game viewing experience and is home to a wide selection of game including lion, leopard, oryx, eland, cheetah, giraffe, Hartmann’s mountain zebra and elephant (amongst others!)
Namibia is vast, so normally tours last around 12 days. Clients can choose camping or stay in lodges, or a combination of both.
